Diseases Caused by the Nine Planets

Astrologers firmly believe that the influence of heavenly bodies in the form of the nine planets on the human being can be either beneficial or detrimental to the health of any person.  This depends on the position of the celestial body at the time of birth.

The names of the nine planets used by astrologers are Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu which are referred to as Navgrahas (nine planets!).

Each of these planets has a differing effect on specific parts of the body on which both a spiritual and physical influence is exercised. The diseases caused by the nine planets on varying body parts are dependent upon whether the planet is beneficial or malignant in its effect. The effects on the human body by the non beneficial planets are as follows.

1. Sun.  The influence of the sun is to cause problems with the eyes, bone breakages and troubles with the digestive system.

2. Moon. Diseases associated with the moon tend to be a bit more serious and show as sexual disease, depressive illness, disease of the blood, and nasal swelling.

3. Mars.  Commonly associated with Mars are diseases of the bone marrow, jaundice, blood disease, and smallpox. It has a direct effect on the menstrual cycle of ladies causing complications and pain.

4. Saturn.  There are many diseases associated with the malignant effects of Saturn which include epilepsy, deafness, rheumatic and gastric problems, and acute muscular pain. Mental afflictions can occur also causing depression and and anxiety.

5. Rahu.  The influences tend to induce suicidal thoughts. Signs of leprosy become evident and the soul is frequently haunted with bad spirits and ghostly objects.

6. Ketu.  The person under the influence of Ketu suffers from many strange and unexplainable body pains. Believers suggest that these pains are result of curses placed upon the person in a previous life.
