The Best Body Building Routine Recommended For You

A perfect body building routine is one, which comprises of such exercises and workouts, which can work all the muscle groups in your body, as well as provide adequate cardio exercises to make your cardiovascular system perform even more efficiently.

When you design a body building routine for yourself, you need to do so in consultation with a fitness expert, so that you come up with a perfect routine, considering your age, present state of health, and your fitness goals. It is always advisable to stick to a customized body building routine, rather than going for just any commonly followed routine because it may result in serious injuries or not get you the desired fitness results.

Start your workouts by warming up for 5-10 minutes. You can include low-intensity movements, such as walking or jogging. Follow this up with about 20 minutes of cardio exercises. You can include brisk walking, jogging, cycling, jumping ropes or swimming. You must follow this up with about 10-15 minutes of stretches to improve muscular flexibility.

You must undertake compound movement exercises (like squats, bench press, dead-lifts, barbell bent over rowing, standing barbell curls, close grip bench press or military press) because these exercises involve not only the main target muscle fibers, but instead, strengthen and workout the related supporting muscle fibers as well.

In case you are a beginner, it would be ideal, if you can perform about 8-12 reps in each set. You can take 1-2 minutes of rest in between two consecutive sets. Learn to use the correct form and technique to perform each exercise so that you stay injury-free. Gradually, as you become accustomed to this particular body building routine, you should start using progressive resistance to shock your muscles and encourage them to go into a constant growth phase. You can intensify your workouts by increasing the reps count per set or by increasing the weight load used for performing those exercises.

Some Sample Body Building Routines

• Focus on your shoulder muscles (deltoids) and your arms (triceps) on day 1
• Focus on your back muscles (such as the latissimus dorsi and Trapezius muscles) on day 2
• Take an off and rest on day 3
• Focus on your leg muscles and your forearm muscles on day 4
• Focus on your chest muscles and your biceps on day 5
• Take an off and rest on days 6 and 7

Conclude your workout schedule with about 5-10 minutes of cooling exercises to complete your workout schedule. You can include exercises such as walking or slow jogging. Cooling exercises aid in bringing back your normal heart beat and in eradicating the toxic wastes produced during the exercises and workouts.

Each person’s abilities are different and therefore, it is best to follow such a body building routine, which has been specifically designed to suit your needs. Your body building routine must be supported by the right kind of diet and supplementation and ample rest to allow the muscle tissues to get repaired and recover from the strain of the exercises.

It is enough if you can workout for 3-4 days in a week and take rest for the rest of the days. Fitness experts recommend 2 days of complete rest to the muscle group that has been worked, so as to allow maximum recovery to the sore muscle tissues.

Space Clearing for Better Health – 4 Starter Tips

If you constantly feel disorganized, out of time and overwhelmed, you are probably among the many of us who need some space clearing and de-cluttering at home or work.  Living and working surrounded by unorganized “stuff” can be fuel for the fire of unhealthy stress.  And who needs more stress and anxiety?  Begin by clearing just a counter space, storage area or cluttered corner.  It will generate a great feeling of accomplishment and energize you.  Here a four simple tips to get started:

Start small. When a task seems daunting — like your office, the garage at home or the big closet in the hall — break it down into manageable chunks.  Set a time limit, schedule it and stick to it.  Book 30 minutes after lunch on Monday to clear your desktop; do the same on Wednesday and Friday, 30 minutes each for the main file drawer, then the storage box in the corner.  Set a manageable pace to finish the room – this stuff’s not going anywhere and every bit of headway you make will lighten your load.

Carry something away. Whenever you leave a room, be it your office, your kitchen or the family rec room, take something with you and put it where it really belongs or get rid of it.  Keep it simple:  just one item, every time you leave a room, and you’ll be seeing a difference in a matter of days.

Trash junk mail – every day.  Take a quick look, and if it’s not something you feel compelled to even open and skim, don’t set it aside for later.  Shred it or tear it up, and into the recycle bin it goes.  You may also want to check out options for reducing junk mail by visiting Direct Mail’s Facebook page for information  on its “National Do Not Mail List.”

Make a Donate box. Pick a box of manageable size and keep it near the exit door.  Whenever you come across something useable and in good repair that you don’t need anymore, put it in the box.  Each time the box gets reasonably full (meaning you can still easily carry it), put it in the car and drop it off the next time you go out.  As your de-cluttering becomes habit, you’ll become a familiar face at the Goodwill and other local charities.

Give yourself three weeks of using these simple starter tips (they say that’s how long it takes to make habits stick), then take a look around and enjoy your cleared space and reduced stress level!

Better Breathing for Better Health

With the confusing myriad of exercise programs out there, people often have difficulty choosing — and sticking to — a healthy physical regimen.  It’s not all about burning up the calories, either.  The reason aerobic exercise is good for us is because it enables us to take in more oxygen, expel carbon dioxide and give that muscle known as our heart a healthy workout.

Do you know that you can also begin improving your health by simply changing the way you breathe throughout the day?   When we breathe too shallowly, which many of us do, over time our chest and lung tissue can become constricted.  This reduces the flow of oxygen to all our tissues.  Consciously practicing deep, rhythmic breathing throughout the day has a number of benefits, including expansion of the diaphragm, the cone-shaped muscle beneath our lungs.  It also expands the air pockets in our lungs, which triggers a relaxation response in our bodies.

But it’s not just about the lungs and the heart.  When we breathe our circulatory system carries oxygen and nutrients throughout our body; the lymphatic system completes the equation by eliminating what we don’t need.  Deep, regular breathing stimulates and enhances the functioning of our lymphatic system, which in turn carries away toxins, dead blood cells and other matter that our body no longer requires.

Start being healthier and more relaxed right now.  Before you get up from your chair, take a few moments to sit up straight.  Breathe in deeply, expanding your chest and filling your lungs with air.  Slowly exhale.  Repeat three or four times.  You’ve just taken a great first step toward better health!

All Star Supplements

We have tested more than a few supplements that were supposed to provide the most health benefits, including muscletech supplements, prohormone supplements, sports nutrition supplements and even considered ephedra diet pills.

We also asked the expert opinion and together we named the winners of all star supplements contest:

Fish Oil

“It’s a superstar, especially when it comes to heart health,” says Dr. Kevin Barrows, M.D., interim director of clinical programs at the University of California in San Francisco Osher Center for Integrative Medicine. Fish oil has much cumulative research showing it works just as well as cardiac medicines.

Take 1-3 g a day to get cardiac benefits, says Dr. Barrows when sharing the heart health recipe with our readership. Fish oil may also reduce the risk of depression and help kids with ADHD.

St. John’s Wort

More than 20 clinical trials show that this herbal remedy treats mild to moderate depression. For some it works as well as prescription medications, says Dr. Barrows.

The typical dosage is 300 mg 3 times a day, says Gail Mahady, Ph.D., associate professor of pharmacy practice at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She recommends talking to your doctor before taking this herbal supplement, and adds that for severe depression it is better to stick to regular meds.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D is also one of the all star supplement contest winners. It is essential for bone health and may be crucial for cancer prevention. Vitamin D can also protect against multiple sclerosis and possibly even flu.

“Many women have vitamin D levels that are too low,” says Dr. Low Dog. Have your doctor do a blood test to measure yours. If you are below 32, take a supplement. Up to 2,000 IUs per day is considered safe for most people. That is also the level cancer researchers are recommending for protective effects

Summertime Crockpot Cooking – Smart and Healthy

Don’t tuck your trusty crockpot away in a bottom cabinet or the pantry just because the weather is getting warmer. It’s a practical and healthy cooking alternative for summertime, too.

No one likes to cook over a hot stove in the summer, but many people prefer a warm meal for dinner. The crockpot solves the overheated kitchen problem, as there’s no need to turn on heat-generating oven or burners. All cooking heat is isolated to one small appliance on your kitchen countertop.
The crockpot also allows you to take advantage of the bounty of fresh vegetables that summertime offers. Main dishes, side dishes, casseroles, soups and more are perfect for cooking in the crockpot and a brilliant way to get your daily quota of vitamins and nutrients.

A crockpot meal paired with a crisp, cool salad is perfect for a taste tempting summer dinner menu. Use the crockpot to prepare tasty chillable summer soups. Guests coming for a barbecue in the evening? Start a tasty crockpot side dish earlier in the day. You can even use your crockpot to make delicious desserts!

Would you rather be outside having some fun in the sun? Save time by keeping prep time and cleanup to a minimum using your crockpot – no multiple pots and pans throwing heat on the stove top, just gather your fresh ingredients and place them in the pot, put the lid on and walk away for a few hours. What could be simpler.

Now begin planning all the fun things you can do with the time that you saved in the kitchen this summer. You can visit The Summer Crockpot at Food.com for more than 100 summertime recipe ideas, and dozens of other great crockpot-oriented sites abound. Enjoy!

Nebraska families may launch medical pot ballot initiative

Families that want to legalize medical marijuana are raising money and lining up donors for a possible 2016 ballot drive, even though Nebraska lawmakers say they’ll address the issue next session.

Parents with sick children who lobbied for a measure that stalled this year have formed a new nonprofit, Nebraska Families 4 Medical Cannabis, to explore a citizen-led petition drive.

Though the group won’t announce its decision until next month when members have a firm plan in place, president Shelley Gillen said, she has already spoke with possible financiers and a GoFundMe page has so far received more than $6,100 of the $7,500 the group wants for the initial push.

“We are looking at some different options,” said Gillen, of Bellevue. “We want to become more vocal and recognized as law-abiding citizens who want safe, legal access to medical cannabis.”

If the ballot campaign proceeds, it would replace a low-budget petition drive that’s already under way through Omaha’s chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws. Chapter founder Bryan Boganowksi said his group is approaching 20,000 signatures with an all-volunteer drive based primarily in Omaha, but it quickly became clear that deep-pocketed donors and paid workers are necessary.

“It comes down to money,” Boganowski said. “Volunteers alone can’t pull this off. It’s going to take paid petition circulators.”

Boganowksi said his group would throw its support — and collected contact information — behind Nebraska Families 4 Medical Cannabis if the ballot campaign happens.

Gathering signatures for a ballot measure could be easier under a new state law that goes into effect Aug. 30. The law allows petition organizers to pay circulators by the signature instead of by the hour, something supporters say gives circulators an incentive to gather more and makes it easier for organizers to estimate how much a petition drive will cost.

Signature gathering could become easier still depending on the outcome of a federal court case, in which a federal judge struck down a requirement that petition signatures come from registered voters in at least 38 of Nebraska’s 93 counties. Judge Joseph Bataillon suspended his November ruling while the case is appealed, but if the decision is upheld, petition circulators could concentrate their efforts in metropolitan areas and avoid the travel costs and difficulty of gathering signatures in rural areas.

Gillen said that instead of pursuing a ballot initiative, members could simply renew their focus on the Legislature next year, given that Nebraska lawmakers gave first-round approval in the 2015 session to a bill that would have allowed liquid, pill or vapor forms of medical cannabis to treat symptoms of some diseases.

Sen. Tommy Garrett of Bellevue shelved his proposal late in the session amid concerns that it had lost support, but he promised to bring it back when the new session begins in January. Some conservative lawmakers opposed the bill, and Republican Attorney General Doug Peterson voiced concerns that it could create a path to recreational use. Republican Gov. Pete Ricketts questioned the drug’s medicinal value.

If it passes, Nebraska would join 23 other states and the District of Columbia in allowing marijuana for medical use, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.

Gillen’s 13-year-old son, Will, suffers from Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, a rare and severe form of epilepsy. He doesn’t speak, is legally blind and has the cognitive skills of a 2-year-old. He wears a padded helmet with a faceguard to protect him from violent seizures. All treatments have failed and led to nasty side effects, she said, including a weakened immune system and damaged stomach lining.

Their last option, aside from cannabis oil, is brain surgery. Gillen said the oil derived from marijuana doesn’t guarantee that her son’s condition will improve, but it has been reported to decrease the frequency and severity of seizures and improve patients’ cognitive abilities.

Group member Shari Lawlor, whose 22-year-old daughter suffers from seizures, said the group plans to run a statewide poll to gauge voter support for medical marijuana.

Heart Repair With Barely a Cut

Until now, there haven’t been a lot of options for someone whose aortic valve (the one that lets the blood go from the heart to the rest of the body) has gotten gummed up by calcium deposits. Surgeons had to crack open the sternum to get at the heart, or make do with less effective drug treatments if the patient was too sick or too old for aggressive measures.

Now, with this medical advance, surgeons can help without so much as nicking a patient’s chest – by shaking a catheter up through the groin. This technique is known as transcatheter aortic valve implantation, or TAVI.) The technique isn’t just easier for these fragile patients, in the first studies, the incision-free approach helped them live longer than people getting standard heart treatments.

Doctors are making similar progress in using catheters to replace other kinds of heart valves – Elizabeth tailor had her mitral valve repaired, then tweeted about it! – and cardiologists say that the way they treat heart valve disease may never be the same.

Healthy Grain Alternatives

Lately many people are avoiding or reducing the amount of wheat or wheat-products they consume.  Rice, potatoes and corn are frequently the top three foods heading the “instead of” list, but there are actually a variety of other tasty and nutritious grain alternatives out there.  Here are just a few:

Buckwheat – Though its name sounds like a grain, buckwheat is actually a fruit seed related to rhubarb and sorrel.  Favored in Eastern Europe for use in meat and winter root dishes, it has a nutty flavor.  Many stores carry buckwheat flour or you can buy whole-grain buckwheat groats, known as kasha.

Millet – An important food staple for many cultures throughout history, much of the world’s millet is grown in India.  In its whole state it can be used in place of couscous in many recipes; ground, it serves as a substitute for rice flour.  Dry skillet toast before cooking to enhance millet’s mild, nutty flavor.

Quinoa – Protein-rich with lots of vitamins and minerals, quinoa has been called a “supergrain”.  It is available in a variety of forms, including quinoa pasta, quinoa flour and whole-grain quinoa.  In its whole-grain form it should be rinsed before using to eliminate a coating called saponin, which can cause a bitter taste.

Amaranth – This grain a relative of pigweed, and also high in both fiber and protein.  Less well known than the other wheat-free alternative grains, it is most commonly available as flour.

Many grains are delicious in both hot and cold dishes, and grain recipe sites abound on Google.  If your local grocer or the big chain markets don’t carry some of the wheat alternatives listed above, they may also be found at area health food stores, specialty grocers or online.

Tips For Eating to Gain Muscle

Every man wants to build up their muscles. Building stronger, more well defined muscles is a great way to improve the way you look and help you feel a little more confident with your body. It is also a great way to help make your job and your daily life easier. For many men, the average day at work involves a fair amount of lifting and moving of heavy objects. By building up extra muscle a man can make these tasks a lot easier. This will result in feeling better both at work and after work. Most experts talk about the exercising habits someone needs to build muscle but few point out how eating to gain muscle is an important trait as well.

How Eating to Gain Muscle is Effective

Eating is something we all do naturally. It is something that we have to do and for most of us it is also something we like to do. Unfortunately, it is for that reason that many people don’t necessarily eat the things they should. In order to begin eating to gain muscle you must first work on developing a diet which will meet your needs and the needs of your goals.

Understand Your Own Body

No two people have the same body type. Some men can eat all they want and never gain a pound while others put on weight with every bite they take. To begin eating to gain muscle you must know how your body works. You need to know what foods cause you to gain weight and what foods don’t. No one diet plan is most effective for someone engaging in any form of a muscle building routine. Instead, the diet plan must be tailored to the individual person. This means you need to find out how many calories you should be eating, how much protein and how many carbohydrates. Typically, people who are looking to put on muscle will want a diet which is high in protein but even this varies to some degree.

Improve Your Eating Habits

Once you know what works best for your body you need to put that knowledge into practice if you are interested in eating to gain muscle. Once you have put this diet into practice you must stick with it. It is not enough to eat healthy when you feel like it. You must eat healthy every day. Taking an occasional break to enjoy some unhealthy food is fine as long as it doesn’t turn into a habit.

Exercise is Still a Must

Unfortunately there is no diet which allows you to use eating to gain muscle. The proper eating habits can definitely help you build muscle more rapidly and it can also help your body repair damage to muscle caused by a hard workout, but in the end you still need to get a good amount of exercise in at least three to four days out of the week. You must also stay consistent with this exercise because muscles will degrade relatively rapidly if you do not keep pushing them.

The Best Ways to Build Muscle, Lose Fat and Be Happy

A lot of people have said that you can either build muscle lose fat, but you cannot do both. As so many experts have told us this we believe that it is true. Because we do not believe it we never actually look into the possibility of gaining muscle while losing fat at the same time. But trust me it can be done! With summer just around the corner is a great time to get our bodies in shape and looking their best so we can hit the beach feeling good about ourselves.

What went on a talk about in this article is how we can gain muscle lose fat and look good by getting the results that we desire. What you need to understand is that there is going to be a combination of good nutrition and exercise to help us achieve this. Most of us enjoy a healthier diet in these days but with a little tweak here and there you will get the desired results faster than you expect.

The first step, and probably most important, to build muscle lose fat and look good is to have a good exercise regime planned for you. If you do not provide yourself with a daily workout then the plan will fail. You will want to give a specific muscle group a good workout at the least every 4 to 6 days. By leaving them for this time period it will help stimulate muscles and they will grow whereas if you concentrated on one muscle group constantly you will not give the muscle time to grow between your sessions.

The Diet That Goes Along With It

So that is how you can build your muscles successfully. Now I will talk about the most important part of your plan which is your diet. This is really where you either succeed or fail in losing weight while attempting to build muscles.

You should always try and provide your body with a good amount of protein everyday. Eating foods that provide you with a high metabolism also help you burn excess body fat. Make sure to avoid the wrong sorts of calories that can give you the complete opposite effect to what I have just described.

When planning your diet you should always choose to eat foods which are high in protein. These can include eggs, fish and even a lean chicken breast with the skin off. Try and eat a good portion of these foods after you have completed your workout.

A lot of people believe that any fat in foods are bad to you. This is not the case as mono unsaturated fats help in testosterone production. These fats can be found in such things as extra virgin olive oil and vegetables like avocado. Try to limit the amount that you eat daily to around 3 teaspoons a day of the extra virgin olive oil.

When completing your workout, try eating foods such as jam or honey after as this will satisfy the bodies need the sugar and it will also help the body absorb protein.

Finally instead of eating three large meals a day try eating six smaller portion meals a day as this helps to increase your metabolism. A common mistake is that most of the time we eat until we feel full but it takes our bodies at least 20 minutes for all the food to digestive systems usually causing us to overeat.

By following the simple plans and rules you will be able to build muscle lose fat and be happy at the same time and you will be able to see yourself that it is not impossible.

The Home Truths About Building Muscle Fast

Building muscle fast and experiencing a rock hard physique without putting in too much effort seems like a dream come true to most men. We are all sucked in by the vision that we can have an amazing body in a matter of days. There are so many advertising campaigns and marketing schemes that are telling us that if we spend our hard earned money in 7 to 14 days we will have the body that we have always dreaming of.

Accompanying most of these adverts you will see shots of it before and after. In the first picture, the before, you will see someone who looks like they haven’t eaten in the past two weeks. In the second picture, the after, you will see someone who looks like they have been working out every day of their life for the last 10 years. What the adverts lead us to believe is that this look can be achieved in a matter of weeks and that they were building muscle fast. The usual tag line that follows is something like they can do it why can’t you?

The reason that the answer you have to give is no is because you can’t. It is as plain and simple as that. It is a sad ending to a dream but it is a cold hard fact. Below I am going to give you a quick and descriptive low-down on all the different techniques that will help you in building muscle fast, but not unhealthily.

It Is Not Going to Happen Over Night

It does not matter how much bodybuilding you do or how many supplements you take or even if you enter into the world of steroids, there is no overnight results that will give you the body that you so desperately require by building muscle fast. A way to look at this in a positive way is that if you combine a good daily workout in your gym along with the right nutritional diet and rest then the maximum amount of muscle you will put on is around one pound a week. I know that does not sound a lot but it is true. So instead of putting yourself through a lot and not seeing the results quickly, set yourself a goal that is more realistic.

By being a beginner you should always try and focus on building your muscles and strength at first. Rather than try and lift one weight of 200 lbs, try and stick to weights that you feel more comfortable lifting as you will be able to do so more than once. Try to stay away from the specialized machines until you have slightly defined your body better.
By gaining muscles, you should also make sure that you are eating the right foods that enhance muscle gain. Always be aware that you increase your calorie intake slowly because if you try and put too many things into your body in one go you will probably end up making yourself sick.

When you begin your bodybuilding techniques there are no doubts that you will try and spend every last minute available to you working out in order to accomplish building muscle fast. What you do have to understand is that your body needs to recuperate and rest. If you do not rest your body and allow your muscles to relax, then you will end up straining muscles and will have nothing to show for your efforts after a few months. So if you are not sleeping, do so.

This guide will help you in building muscles fast, but do things that you feel comfortable with. Do not over extend your body or your diet as this could have an extremely negative impact in what you are trying to achieve.

5 Ways To Get More Work Done At Home

When you work in an office you generally get paid for your time.

If you work at home either you’re working for yourself, or you’re working on some venture of your own outside work hours.

So if you dick around and don’t get anything done, you achieve nothing.  Not even a paycheck.

Most homes are full of distractions.  Most people like distractions more than work.

Another hard day at the office

This is why most people don’t achieve much at home.

Follow the 5 simple methods below and you will achieve more.

Stick To An Hourly Schedule

Work for 1 hour on 1 task, then move onto something different, even if it’s a related task.  This gives you impetus to do as much as you can in an hour and minimises time wasting.

Turn The Internet Connection Off

Stops you mindlessly surfing the web and disguising it as research.  Do what you can without the web, then hit the net after.

Buy A Plain Pad & Pencil

Plot out bigger picture ideas away from the computer.  A plain pad and pencil will help to free your mind and get creative.

Take A Break

It’s easy to get tunnel vision at home.  Take 5 minutes every hour or so to get some fresh air, cup of tea or brief change of scenery.

Get Rid Of The Remote Control

Without this you are far less likely to turn on the TV.  Not that you should even consider turning the TV on.  Unless there’s football showing of course ;-)
